The song "Push That Horn" Rob wrote in January 2018, shortly after the sudden death of his trainer Dean Terry from DeSoto, Missouri, who trained him in the Equine sports discipline called Cutting.

In this sport, rider and horse have to separate a single cow from a herd of cattle. The rider already has one hand on the saddle horn in this first stage of a cutting run, in the other he holds the reins. When a cow is separated from the herd successfully, the main task of the cutting run begins.

The rider must also put the second hand, the one holding the reins, down on the neck of the horse from that point on. Now the horse is on its own and must prevent the cow from running back to the herd, by cutting off the cows ways. It will always try to get exactly the position between the single animal and the herd. The horse shows spectacular movements and the rider has to push on the horn to get as deep in the saddle as possible, to be able to sit the horse's movements without falling, but also not to block the horse in it's moves.

Now, the phrase "Push That Horn" makes sense for everybody . So it is not the horn of a car or the grown horn of a cow that the song is about. It's the saddle horn that is also so typical for the western saddle.

Dean Terry was a master of his trade in this sport and was as good at teaching as riding himself. His death was a bitter loss to the entire cuttings scene! A true friend, a person you loved to have around you.
